Maintenance 2011

On april th 28th we had a very succesfull launch.
The winter of 2011 there were a lot of long term maintenance issues on the list that we liked to tackle.

The good news is that we managed to get it all done with the help of the season opening customer Mark. The standard maintenance and winterising Erofili was done when she was hauled out in November 2010, so mainly oil & filters and taking the sails down.

Here is a list of the bigger items we did this spring 2011:
- dismount the engine for cleaning & paint job
- replace all rubber hoses on the engine
(apart from 2 that need to be ordered from Yanmar)
- disassembled the propeller shaft for check-up
- replaced the shaft seal and support bushing
- send Genoa an Main sail out for regeneration
- a new layer of anti fouling
- anchor winch serviced: new gibsy, replaced oil, repaired stop and chain catcher
- cleaning diesel tank on port side and closing a leak in one of the manholes.
- cleaning bilges under diesel tanks including a fresh layer of paint
- reconstruction of shower drain system
(the old started leaking in the bilge under the diesel tanks) & a fresh layer of paint
- moving the 'wet' bilge pump up to become the shower drain pump
- installed a new 'dry' bilge pump with higher capacity under the sink
- checked all windows for leaks, replacing rubbers on the handles

Our Fleet

At the moment it consists of only one yacht; a 44 feet Dromor. Our yacht(s) are very well equipped, as is usually the case with privately owned vessels. You'll find equipment on our boats that our colleagues may charge as extra, like an outboard for the dingy, and autopilot. It's all included. We have installed an iPod connection on Erofili and we renewed the speakers ooyside in the cockpit. So now it is even more easy to listen to your favourite music!

Besides that, our prices always include a skipper assuring that you will have a vacation without any worries. Your job is to focus on the beauty of the Greek Sea and to spot the best bay for today's lunch.... We believe that's exactly why you book your Holidays with us.

"Erofili"

"Erofili" is a Greek built polyester sailing yacht, 44 feet long, type Athena 44. The interior is surprisingly light and spacious. The saloon consists of a seating area, a small but convenient kitchen with stove and refrigerator and the navigation table. From the saloon you can enter all 4 double cabins of which one has separate beds (port side front). One cabin is reserved for the skipper, usually this is starboard front, but this can be swapped in case you express this wish. Theoretically two people may sleep in the saloon, but we advise against that for practical reasons. Best is to aim for 7 people or less (excluding the skipper). On both sides of the saloon, you'll find two toilets with shower capacity. Outside there is a spacious cockpit with a bimini and lots of space for sunbathing. On the stern you'll find the swimming platform with the outdoor shower, for your daily swimming sessions.

Interior

layout of Erofili4 double cabins, refrigerator, solar panels, two toilets/bathrooms with hot and cold water (warm only after running the engine for a few minutes). Safety equipment: VHF, Liferaft for 10 persons, 3 fire extinguishers, 10 life vests, flares and smoke signals and detailed maps of the area. Also there will be an pre-paid GSM on board for necessary wind forecasts through SMS (works only on Greek mobiles)
Other equipment: electric winch, GPS, compass, radar, depth sounder, wind meter (speed/direction), autopilot and of course your dedicated SaltySkipper!
